Church Planting Pastoral Residents

I invite you to apply for the 2018 Bethlehem Residency for Church Planting. The elders of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN are leading our church in the vision entitled “Fill These Cities: 25 x 25.” One of the four main components of the vision is our prayer goal to plant at least 25 new churches by the year 2025. Toward that end, we are looking to hire three Church Planting Residents in 2018, ideally one per campus.

The purpose of the Bethlehem Residency for Church Planting is to prepare and make ready church planters prior to receiving the endorsement of our elders to plant a new church.

The program is made up of several components including the following: ongoing assessment, supervised ministry, additional training, a coaching/mentoring relationship, finalizing location, and elder commissioning. Residents are considered part of the pastoral staff and are expected to attend staff and elder meetings at Bethlehem Baptist Church..

Applicants are required to submit a complete application with personal and pastoral references. Preference will be given to those who have completed a Master of Divinity or similar theological degree program. Qualified applicants should be recommended by church leaders, able to express a clear sense of God’s calling, and biblically qualified for eldership.

The residency is a full-time 12-month in residence program, beginning in January or June of 2018. Residents will receive a stipend of $25,000, and are required to raise at least an additional $25,000 for residency expenses. The Church Planting Residency is not for those exploring church planting as a vocational option, but is designed for those who have a settled sense of God's call to plant a new church or revitalize an existing one.

Applications are available online here.

Applications must be submitted by January 1, 2018 for a residency beginning June 1, 2018.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
