Job Responsibilities:
Perform all custodial duties assigned. This may include:
Maintain daily cleanliness in the buildings and their grounds using prescribed procedures, supplies and equipment, and exercising safety consciousness at all times. This includes, but is not limited to: cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, emptying and carrying out trash, and outside work during all times of the year.
Set up and tear down of room furniture for classes and events.
Operate all equipment and tools safely, efficiently and perform routine maintenance as directed.
Opening and/or closing the building by locking/unlocking rooms and doors, turning on/off lights, turning on/off HVAC systems, etc.
Setting up audio visual components including microphones, audio cabling, and instrument connections.
Documenting task completion, providing accurate notes and feedback to supervisor.
Being security conscious regarding persons in or on church properties. Assisting with security issues as requested.
Performing minor facility or equipment maintenance based on ability and availability of resources. Reporting facilities or systems repairs and assisting the Coordinator for Facility Infrastructure as requested.
Being proactive by being aware of facility and event needs, and using initiative in determining the best way to accomplish the goal.
Working in close coordination with other custodians and staff to ensure all requirements are met.
Training newly hired custodial staff.
Being responsive to other Bethlehem staff’s needs.
In the absence of direct supervision, being able to prioritize responsibilities and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Provide coffee or beverage services as requested.
Adhering to all safety policies and procedures including PPE and BBP.
