Brad was born and raised in Minneapolis. He graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Bethel College in 1980 and was self-employed in construction when he began attending Bethel Seminary. He joined staff in 1987 as the Pastor for Youth, where he served for 20 years. He has been serving as the Pastor for Global Outreach since 2021.

Brad and his wife, Cinday, have been married since 1987. They have four children and four grandchildren.
