Essential Qualities of a Biblical Counselor Course Description
Counseling skills are important, but the character and the relational building approaches of a counselor also significantly contribute to effective biblical counseling. This class guides counselors in engaging in godly, thoughtful consideration and growth in self-awareness in character and skills. The character qualities of love, humility, faithfulness, and spiritual maturity; the skills of loving, knowing, speaking and doing are explored and examined in order to contemplate development in these areas.
Students will watch lectures, read, and write papers at home, and then meet together face-to-face as a cohort to discuss lecture content, readings, and other questions about how to apply concepts and do biblical counseling more effectively. Come take advantage of this unique opportunity!
This course is taught at a graduate level, though you do not need any prior degrees to participate. Courses can be taken for credit, or they can be audited. Auditing is less expensive, but taking the courses for credit allows the Recitation Instructor to provide feedback on all assignments, which facilitates growth and understanding for each of the students. Taking this course for credit also means it counts toward earning a Level 3 certificate through CCEF. Tuition is $465.
