Parenting: The Early Years is a seminar designed for anyone who is interested in dedicating children (birth–age 3) and attending is a prerequisite for parents dedicating a child at Bethlehem.
The class introduces the theology and vision of parenting and ministry to children at Bethlehem, particularly the little ones, with a specific focus on the five covenant promises that the parents will make before witnesses during the dedication service. The teaching is also partnered with worship in song, meaningful conversation, and prayer. It is designed to be a time of fellowship with a theme: the gospel of Jesus Christ applied to marriages, parenting, and by God’s grace, young hearts.
Our hope is four-fold:
- That the gospel of Jesus Christ will be taught with the aim to minister to individuals who are spouses and parents. All of this leads to worship with a renewed heart of trust in God.
- That the foundation truths of parenting as revealed in the five covenant promises will be taught, talked through as spouses, and used as prayer guides along the way.
- That this step forward together as church and family would be just the beginning of a grace-filled partnership for the long haul.
- That this class and the dedication service will be one of the means that the Father uses to draw these children to his Son, Jesus by the Spirit according to his sovereign timing and grace.
Childcare is provided, but must be requested by the Monday, November 26. Young babies are welcome to remain with parents during the seminar.
