Zambia Ministry Trip (August 2018)
This team will support our global partners and the Action Zambia C.R.O.S.S. project team by leading practical healthcare training workshops and evening sessions on suffering and biblical perseverance to various church leaders and members around Zambia’s capital city of Lusaka. These believers are then able to minister spiritual and physical care to those in their communities who are affected by HIV/AIDS.
We will be working in the training sessions alongside the Zambian national team of Action Zambia, as they add translation, cultural background, and advice to our teaching. It's wonderful to see the eagerness of the workshop attendees to learn and apply the skills and knowledge—we hear a lot of, “I never knew that, thank you so much!” This trip is a great opportunity to have practical impact in the lives of caregivers, who will in turn be the hands and feet of Christ to those in real need around them. You will also grow in a fundamental understanding of a cross-cultural health ministry and your possible place in it.
The trip dates are August 2–14, and the estimated fundraising goal is $3,000, with financial help available for Bethlehem members. Experienced trip leaders are Steve & Laurie Walmsley.
If you are interested in this opportunity, contact Steve Walmsley (612-709-5911). See trip details and application (MM Zambia 8/18).
