South Campus Building Project Update #3
From Jon Hendricks, Chair of the South Campus Building Committee ...
On Thursday, August 3, our building project will come before the Lakeville Planning Commission. It is their job to make a recommendation to the City Council either to approve as is, approve with certain conditions, or not to approve our plans.
This meeting is an open, public hearing. This means neighbors, residents, or anyone with an interest in what is being proposed can comment on our plans.
The meeting begins at 6pm at Lakeville City Hall (20195 Holyoke Avenue). Strong attendance by Bethlehem supporters helps. We encourage many of our Bethlehem family to attend, especially those of us who reside in Lakeville.
If the Planning Commission recommends the City Council approve our plans, the Council could approve our project at their meeting on Monday, August 21, or on Tuesday, September 5.
Please be in prayer for these two meetings. In general, that God would allow us to be favorably received by all the parties involved. More specifically, pray that the Planning Commission and City Council will accept brick-clad precast wall panels as a Grade A material. Lakeville requires at least 65.5 percent of the building exterior be Grade A. If the clad panels aren’t accepted, there will be a significant increase in the cost of our building.
We will let you know the outcome of the planning commission meeting so you can be in prayer for the city council meeting.
Thank you for praying with us!
