Short-Term Ministry Trips for 2022

Brad Nelson

Pastor for Global Outreach

After a COVID-imposed hiatus, Bethlehem short-term ministry teams are again being formed! See below for a list of seven ministry opportunities we’re coordinating in 2022. If you’re interested in learning more about serving in any of these locations, please email us. We hope you’ll consider joining us!

Engineering Ministries International (late May–early June)
North Campus Global Partner Andy Engebretson is leading a ministry group to Burundi, where his team will help Hope Africa University develop a Master Plan and goals for growth. If you are interested or skilled in architecture, civil engineering, or electrical engineering, this opportunity is for you.

Joni & Friends Family Retreat (June 13–17)
South Campus members Keith Substad and Bob & Mary Horning are leading a team to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to serve Joni & Friends during a week-long family retreat that provides worship, teaching, and connections with families who know the unique joys and challenges of life with disability.

Club 4th (June 28 – July 4 and July 29 – August 6)
South Campus member Corrie Ayers is leading groups to Cyprus twice this summer, both aimed at ministering to children of missionaries (also called “Third Culture Kids”).

Ecuador (July 6–16)
Downtown Campus member Ken Morse is leading a team through ITEC Ecuador. This ministry experience will introduce team members to the Waodani tribe (formerly known as the Aucas), a previously violent people group who, through the ministry and martyrdom of Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, and others, are now believers in Christ.

Red Lake Adventure Camp (July 30 – August 5)
Friend of Bethlehem Brad Soukup is leading a team to help with a camp for First Nations children (ages 9–12) from Red Lake, Minnesota. The camp is held every year at Camp Oak Hills near Bemidji, Minnesota.

Ethiopia (October 1–15)
Downtown Campus member Ron Powell is leading a group to encourage and strengthen the ministry of Alemnesh Heyi, one of Bethlehem’s “national partners.” Alemnesh is seeking help with updating facilities, construction work, medical aid, and caring for orphans, seniors, and the disabled.

Sweden (October 5–16)
North Campus member and Global Partner Paul Lindberg (serving with Cru) is leading a group to encourage and pray for pastors and leaders throughout Sweden.
