Ministry to International Students
Ministry to international students is a strategic way to reach the nations with the gospel. Through building relationships with international students, we have opportunities to be salt and light, pointing people to Jesus. In the Twin Cities, the University of Minnesota is providing education for more than 6,000 international students, many of whom are from places with little gospel exposure. If you are interested in ministering to these students, please consider partnering with one of the organizations below.
USA Homestays
USA Homestays matches international students with local families to share culture and life together. Homestays last at least three months, and host families are paid a monthly stipend to cover costs. All you need is a private room and an open heart. It’s an incredible opportunity to show the kingdom of God to people from around the world! Learn more about USA Homestays or email Ben Robison.
The Hospitality Center
This May, students from India and China will travel to Minnesota to begin their master’s programs at the Carlson School of Management. To help welcome these students and demonstrate Christ’s love to them, The Hospitality Center has developed two programs:
- The Airport Pick-Up program involves picking-up a student from the airport and taking the student to his/her apartment. This “shuttle service" often turns into friendship with opportunities to share Jesus.
- The Short-Term Hosting program involves picking up a student from the airport and hosting them in your home for up to seven days when they first arrive.
For more information, visit The Hospitality Center or email Jon Nesvig.
We would love to see many Bethlehem members take advantage of this strategic opportunity!
