Interested in Church Planting?

Kenny Stokes

Pastor for Church Planting

The harvest is plentiful ... but the church planters are few ...

Please pray for new applicants for our 2018 Bethlehem Residency for Church Planting. As you probably know, the elders of Bethlehem are leading our church in the vision entitled “Fill These Cities: 25 x ’25,” and one of the main components is our prayer goal to plant at least 25 new churches by the year 2025.

Toward that end, we are looking to hire three Church Planting residents in 2018—ideally one per campus. The purpose of the Bethlehem Residency for Church Planting is to prepare and make ready church planters prior to their receiving the endorsement of our elders to plant a new church. The program is made up of several components including training, ongoing assessment, supervised ministry, a coaching/mentoring relationship, location finalization, and elder commissioning.

Applicants submit an application with personal and pastoral references. Preference will be given to those who have completed a Master of Divinity or similar theological degree program. Qualified applicants should be recommended by church leaders, able to express a clear sense of God’s calling, and biblically qualified for eldership.

The residency is a full-time, 12-month, in-residence program, beginning in January or June of 2018.

Applications are available online.
