Ruth was born and raised in Faribault, Minnesota. She attended the Roman Catholic Church with her family, loved singing hymns, and went to parochial school. Although she believed in God and that Jesus died on a cross for sin, it wasn’t until 1994 that God drew her to Himself in a personal way through life circumstances and the truths of His sovereign, saving grace when she started to attend Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).
God has given Ruth a passion for His word and a heart to serve Him in a variety of ways in the churches she had attended coordinating women's retreats, leading women's Bible studies, coordinating kitchen ministry, and teaching children's Sunday school classes. Ruth served as a Children’s Leader in BSF for 12 years and as an Assistant Children’s Supervisor for 2 years.
Ruth and her husband, Bill, started to attend Bethlehem South Campus in 2008 and became members in 2009. She served as teacher and team leader in preschool for 5 years, serves on the Welcome Team, leads a small group with her husband, and has led Bible studies, served as a MOMS table leader, and is a Titus 2 Mentor in Women’s Ministry.
Ruth has been on staff at the South Campus since July 2011 as a ministry assistant for Family Discipleship then for Women’s Ministry, as a Lead Administrative Assistant, and currently as Director for Women's Ministry, South. Serving the South Campus staff and body has been one of her life’s greatest joys.
Prior to working at Bethlehem, Ruth was the Office Manager at a day program for adults with disabilities for 30 years.
Ruth and Bill and have four adult sons: Ryan (and Renea), Chad, Joe, Jeremy (and Krista), and nine grandchildren.
