René González was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America. He grew up in a loving home and in a faithful local church in the capital city of San Salvador. At the age of 10, René experienced God’s saving grace while participating at a youth retreat. Later in his teenage years, he started serving the local church as a student and worship leader, leading various campus ministries.
René earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Strategic Planning from Universidad Tecnológica in San Salvador. During his undergraduate studies, he also completed several theological courses from the Instituto Ministerial Cimiento Estable. In 2010, René felt the Lord’s call to full-time ministry, and became an associate pastor at his home church in San Salvador. After feeling a strong desire for a more robust preparation for ministry, the Lord brought René and his family to the Bethlehem College & Seminary.
Since becoming a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church in 2017, René has been serving in the Hispanic Ministry and Jericho Road Ministries.
René has enjoyed 15 years of marriage with his wife, Magali, who is a medical doctor by training and a full-time mother by choice. Together, they parent their three kids: René Jr., Alicia, and Anna Lucia.
